Background Investigator – Nuclear Department

The Nuclear Background Department provides accurate and timely background investigations to our Nuclear Energy clients to assist in determining access to Nuclear Power Plants. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures and good communication skills. Working together as a team and contributing to a professional and supportive culture is essential to bringing out the best in our team.

Hours of Work: Typical schedule is Monday – Friday. Shifts range from 5 am – 8 pm depending on the staffing needs and preference. Some overtime and weekends will be required. Pay range starting at $15.50 per hour.

 

Job Description:

This position may be assigned to a team with different job responsibilities and duties based on preference. This position will be trained on verification calls and you may be requested/assigned to make calls at times, even if the team you are on does not primarily make calls. Team descriptions are below.

 

Review Team: The review team is responsible for reviewing all completed reports for accuracy and compliance, documenting errors and ensuring the best quality product is sent to the client. This team rarely makes verification calls. It requires strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify discrepancies and ensure all requirements are satisfied. This individual should have the ability to stay focused and maintain a high degree of accuracy, and should have knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation and grammar to accurately proofread, edit and revise documents.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Two years at Collegiate Level or equivalent job experience preferred

Preferred areas of experience: Data Entry, Customer Service, Administrative, editing and proofreading.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Must demonstrate an extreme attention to detail and the capability for handling numerous tasks
  • Display competent computer skills including Internet, knowledge of basic file management and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as the operation of common office equipment
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems, and perform self-directed tasks within required time-frames.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to quickly absorb new information and procedures, as well as understand and follow directions from supervisors and contribute to a professional and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to recall, comprehend and apply company policies and procedures, government regulations and client specific requirements and adhere to strict documentation requirements.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-stress, time-critical environment
  • Accept and apply constructive feedback from multiple sources

BENEFITS

New employees go through classroom training prior to beginning on-the-job training and must pass an extensive test demonstrating sufficient knowledge before being released for on-the-job-training. OJT is monitored closely by supervisors to achieve proficiency. We also conduct ongoing education and training.

This position is seasonal, with permanent positions available based on performance.
